UP TO CHALLENGE: Lady Wolverines win twice to capture Class 2A crown

RIDGELAND – The East Webster Lady Wolverines were up for the challenge.
Utilizing a total team effort, the Lady Wolverines defeated the Enterprise-Clarke Lady Bulldogs 3-1 Saturday afternoon to claim the Class 2A Fast Pitch State championship.

ON PREP LEVEL: East Webster’s momentum leads to success in series

Momentum was on East Webster's side as the team claimed the Class 2A Fast Pitch State championship.
As the day began, the Lady Wolverines were a game down and facing elimination. Things quickly swung East Webster's way as Autumn Frost stepped up to the plate where she jumped on a softball that found space and gave her team a 2-0 advantage.

Bulldogs secure SEC’s fifth seed: State defeats South Carolina 7-2

Mississippi State's regular season finale had a great deal of postseason implications.
The No. 23 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs played like it.
MSU knocked off No. 15 South Carolina 7-2 Saturday at Dudy Noble Field to take the series and secure the No. 5 seed in next week's Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala.

DeMarcus Henderson was the most productive Bulldog of the seven, eight and nine hitters with three singles and a pair of runs batted in during MSU's 7-2 victory to close the regular season at Dudy Noble Field.

McDonald of MSU excited about finish at Central Regional

Ally McDonald walked off the golf course at 11:30 a.m. on the final day of the Central Regional in Oklahoma with a 6-shot lead.
The Mississippi State sophomore shot a final round 4-under, 68 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club to give her the club house lead. Then, it was just a matter of waiting.
